Conscious love

To pigeonhole such a mysterious and grandiose force as Love into a limiting concept is not the purpose of these paragraphs. Rather, we intend, from the Gnostic teaching, to contribute some aspects that we consider of radical importance for every person who feels in love and is determined to complement his or her Life with Love. But love, in order to develop and last, needs to be a conscious love.

A conscious love does not only follow the whims of desire, passion, physical, emotional or intellectual attraction. It is born with a sparkle of sympathy and liking between two beings and is nourished by everyday details, beauty and infinite tenderness. Moreover, in order to keep it alive, it needs care, which can only be provided consciously, i.e. with willpower. 

This care corresponds to knowing that within ourselves we have defects such as jealousy, lust, anger, lies, etc. that can damage the relationship at any moment. So it is necessary to discover them, study them and finally eliminate them. This is the only way for love to survive in us.

How do we care for Love?

The quality of our relationship as a couple is not the same if each of us has been able to realise the importance of paying attention to each other, observing each other in order to overcome human weaknesses, or if we continue to blame others without taking any responsibility. The work on oneself (which is the proposal of Gnostic wisdom) primarily includes three factors which, if practised, can lead a person to total success and fulfilment of his or her essence:

1-Elimination of psychological defects: through the observation of our own errors, manias, bad habits, selfishness, etc. And by a radical change within ourselves, disintegrating these errors that cause harm to ourselves and to others.

2-Birth or regeneration: through conscious work with our life energies, channelling them to achieve the physical and spiritual regeneration of the human being.

3-Selfless service and sacrifice for others: this is the complement of a conscious work on oneself that allows us to feel all humanity as our family, to get rid of selfishness and to feel the happiness of being useful by serving others.

A couple who decide to live these factors individually and accept them in order to share the experience with the one they love, will surely have an essentially dignified life and will walk along paths where love will always knock at their door. If we are determined to accept, forgive and help, without trying to change someone by force.

The energy of Love

It is essential for us to know that the same energy that we possess individually, in a couple, is wonderfully potentiated and increased. We want to refer specifically to the SEXUAL ENERGY. Immeasurable portent of physical and spiritual creations and absolute basis of the development of LOVE in our existence.

In turn, the fulcrum needed for the work of regeneration and inner development is the sexual energy and its wise and maximum utilisation with the strength of will. It must be kept in mind that this energy is creative. Therefore, in the use we make of it individually and as a couple, the results will be seen. We suggest that in order to obtain good results we should take into account the good daily treatment, the practice of understanding and empathy, to be inspired by uplifting and beautiful things in life: harmonic music, natural perfumes, contact with nature in different activities (home garden, garden, etc.), healthy food, outings to the countryside, socialising, dialogue, walks, caresses, kisses and spaces for each one to develop their vocation and their activities.
