Problem-free living

Is a life without problems possible?

Have you ever wondered if a life without problems is possible? Or maybe you have wondered why life is so difficult and full of problems?

Is there a way to solve them, or do we just have to suffer them and that's all?

Gnostic psychology gives us precise tools that we can use in our lives and take a step forward towards true freedom and peace. For these begin within ourselves.

Events and problems

Events Vs. Problems

First and foremost, we must differentiate between events and problems.

From the Gnostic point of view, events are all the circumstances that happen to us. They are external and beyond our control. Here are a few examples: the weather, the traffic, the delay of public transport, the way others treat us, the price of food, the result of our favourite team, the breakage of a part of our house, etc. In short, everything in our lives that happens to us "from the outside".

Events in themselves are neither good nor bad. They are simply things that happen to us. How one takes that, that is the "problem".

But what is a problem?

A problem is a mental form with two poles, one positive and one negative. For clarification, a mental form is something that has no reality. In other words, an unsubstantiated fantasy.

How? readers will ask; my problem, this terrible situation I am going through, that keeps me awake, that keeps me almost without food, that keeps me from enjoying myself, that every time I think of it... I get sad; isn't it real? Well, now let's go on to explain.

Problems, then, are mental forms held by the mind. And their "reality" is because the mind is locked into such a fantasy. Moreover, worries not only do not solve problems, they damage the mind and the brain.

Solution or Solution

Let's take a concrete example: a person does not have the money to pay the rent for his house, which is why he is going to be evicted from his home. But the concrete event is one thing, the problem is another. This situation may or may not be solved, which does not mean that we are able to live without fear of eviction, but this is the opportunity to learn, not to solve, but to dissolve the problems.

As the Eastern proverb goes :

"If your problem has a solution, why do you care? And if it doesn't... why do you care?"

So let's be clear that worrying about paying the rent is not going to raise the rent money. Worrying about it will. Gravitating all day with the problem in our minds does not solve it, on the contrary. It takes away the clarity to dissolve it.

Part of dissolving the problem is to forget about it, or rather, not to think or worry about it.

Thinking - Feeling - Acting

In our psychological reality we can distinguish three fundamental aspects in our ways of reacting to events. These are: with thought, with emotion and with action.

These aspects the Gnostic Wisdom calls the brains; the thinking brain, the emotional brain and the motor brain. Our vitality is divided into thirds in each of these.

Every time we want to solve problems we do it from a partial vision of one of these brains. And because it is incomplete, it does not provide the solution to the problem.

To dissolve the problem, to forget it, is to move out of the incomplete vision of a single brain and to gravitate to the other brains.

In the example above, if we think all day long that we can't pay the rent, we won't really get the money to do so. On the contrary, it will take away our energy, our ability to create new and ingenious ways to solve the situation.

When we live without fear and without projecting ourselves into the future and without the painful burdens of the past, we open the doors to the many pleasant surprises that life has in store for us. And the insoluble will become soluble, what we once thought impossible will become as easy as drinking a glass of water.

We must learn to wisely manage the three brains; action, feeling and thinking, working in perfect balance and harmony will make us men and women not only different, but also with more vitality, with more will to live, with more capacity to face the events of life and to seek happiness in every instant.
