Have you ever asked yourself why do I always repeat the same situations in my life? Why do I always fall into the things I want to avoid? If I want to change, why don't I succeed? So is change possible?
A change in our existence is indeed quite possible. But in order to achieve it, we must leave the merely intellectual realm and move on to concrete actions, which will enable us to make a fundamental change. That means effort, will, conscious work. It also means to stop being what we have been and to be willing to be truly different.
First of all it is important to analyse the repetition of dramas and situations that exist in our life, which we do not realise because we are immersed in the daily maelstrom. What happens to our existence? Are we just following the line of evolution? What are we living for? Is there a purpose? In seeking answers to these questions we begin self-analysis. This is standing at a crossroads and defining where to go from here, whether to take control of our own life or to continue in the labyrinth of everyday life.
Change from within
Balancing our inner and outer state is the right thing to do. We must live intelligently. To think that if such and such a thing had not happened we would be happier, or that if we had seized such and such an opportunity we would be better off today, etc., is a waste of time and energy. Because the past no longer exists and cannot be changed. Besides, each one of us is the architect of our own existence. Regrets and blame only lead to more mistakes.
In other words, in order to achieve change and the long-awaited happiness it is necessary to work on oneself. Change from the inside out. Otherwise we will remain victims of circumstances, like a log in the ocean being dragged this way and that. Then we can change situations and alter outcomes if we learn to make changes starting from within.
Self-observation
We need to eliminate from our inner self everything that causes us harm, because the outer self is a reflection of the inner self. This requires practices such as self-observation, observing ourselves. Because we need to see what needs to be removed. And to be willing to work consciously to bring about a root change.
Self-observation is the practice that will bring us the first light to begin our path of self-knowledge. It is an exercise that activates our dormant consciousness and allows us to discover the mechanical and automatic way in which we spend our days.
It starts by paying attention to all our actions, our habits, our words, the clothes we wear, our gestures, the way we walk, our posture, and so on. Because all this is a reflection of our inner world.
Psychological rebellion
Breaking away from the daily dragging is not easy, and starting the change that will lead to real transformation requires courage and daring. Daily situations will want to drag us back to the inertia we were in, to prevent the awakening of our consciousness. However, we must learn from the circumstances that present themselves to us, with a critical and determined attitude of psychological rebellion.
Psychological rebellion is against ourselves, against our habits, vices, negative thoughts, habits, etc. Rebellion against that which ultimately causes us and our environment harm. Only we can change that and achieve a real transformation of ourselves and therefore of our life.
