How many times have we said: \"I don't have time\". We go through life unaware of the wisdom of living in the moment. We are slaves to matter and its systems: work, money, multiple obligations, etc. that absorb our life quickly. When we are young, we long for the future and when we are old, we yearn for the past. Initiatic philosophy affirms that \"The truth is the unknown from moment to moment\".<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fallacy of running after time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We feel that it is impossible to capture time and therefore the finiteness of existence makes us torture ourselves with the idea that we will not be able to get everything we would like, nor do everything we long for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In ancient times this fear did not exist, because each person patiently respected the times of nature. Thus, the ancient farmers were guided by the lunar calendar and in the absence of industrialisation, processes were much slower. A shoemaker, for example, would take months to finish making a single pair of shoes or it would take centuries to build a church. The paradigm of that time, without cities or population agglomerations and much less industrialisation and technology, gave a different sense of the happiness<\/a> and its value lay in the endurance of the spirit as opposed to the ephemerality of matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The<\/figure>The sense of wonder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The comfort of everyday life and its routine numbs both our physical and mental senses. internal powers<\/a> that each person possesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time is made up of moments that we spend in the systems of the world, which pass without extracting their conscious value. When we capture the consciousness of this instant, here and now, we extract the important teaching that it has come to deliver to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If our consciousness sleeps and we do not realise the wisdom of instantaneity, we will have passed through time sadly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children who, with their enthusiasm, find little miracles to play at every moment, show us how dormant our conscience is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The routine of time, and its alienating mechanics, makes us lose our sense of wonder, nothing surprises us any more, nothing calls our attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To live in the moment is to realise that in every instant there is something new to discover about ourselves and the world around us, and that it is only up to us to consciously take advantage of it or to allow ourselves to pass through life without having learned anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who live in the moment, attentive and aware of themselves in the here and now, expand their sense of wonder...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to extract the wisdom of the moment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Buddha was once asked \"Who is a Holy Man?\" and Buddha replied: \"Every hour is divided into a certain number of seconds, and every second into a certain number of fractions. The saint is really the one who is able to be fully present in every fraction of a second\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning to develop a sense of self-observation through the simple practice of the treble clef is the best way to seize the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practice:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Start by dividing attention into three parts: subject, object, place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Subject: answers the question Who am I? in intimate remembrance of oneself; without forgetting oneself in the face of any event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Object: answers the question What am I doing? Without identifying with any thing or circumstance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Place: answer the question What is this place? Observe the place in detail, ask yourself Why am I in this place?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Whoever realises this threefold division of attention into subject, object and place succeeds in taking advantage of the wisdom of the moment, for he awakens consciousness, discovers himself and avoids falling into error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
