In all cultures and religious forms of the world there have been great men and women who, by working on themselves, have achieved union with their Real Self. With that divine principle that dwells in all individuals. And in this way they attained true wisdom and holiness.
But that shining life, that light, can never remain static once it awakens. And that is why those human beings were great Prophets and Masters of humanity. And they have dedicated their lives to teaching, so that each individual may find the way to his or her own Self.
A Revolutionary Teacher
"AL HALLAJ, born in Iran in 857, was the grandson of a devotee of the Great Master Zoroaster.
AL HALLAJ was initiated into the Great Mysteries of Sufism. Arab traditions tell us that when he reached the age of forty, he was in open disagreement with the orthodox jurists and traditionalists, and went out into the streets to preach directly to the crowds the sublime principles of the spiritual life.
It is written that AL HALLAJ ehe Great Sufi Master, taught by his word and his example travelling tirelessly through Iran, India, Turkestan, etc., reaching the very borders of old China.
Grand Master AL HALLAJ was without doubt a tremendous REVOLUTIONARY.. Jealous and envious politicians accused him of being a dangerous agitator. The DOCTORS of the law, of confusing the human and the divine. Even the Masters of Sufism themselves had no objection to accuse him of breaking the discipline of the ARCAN by spreading the Esoteric Mysteries among the people. And as is hardly normal in all such cases, there was no lack of judges ready to condemn him for many alleged offences. Such as that of faker, impostor, BLACK MAGICIAN, sorcerer, sorcerer, profaner of the mysteries, troublemaker of the people, ignorant, preacher, enemy of the government, etc.

The confinement of the Maestro
AL HALLAJ, the Great Sufi Mystic is locked up in an infamous prison for nine years. And then, vilely mutilated and executed on 27 March 922, in the year 309 of the Hegira.
The sacred traditions of Islam say that when the terrible night came when he was to be taken out of his dungeon at dawn to be executed, he stood up and said the ritual prayer, prostrating himself twice.
Those who saw him say that when he had finished his prayer, he repeated incessantly: Deception, deception... until the end of the black night and after a long and profound silence, he exclaimed: "TRUTH, TRUTH". And again he stood upright: he girded the veil on his head, wrapped himself in his blessed robe, stretched out his sacred christified hands, turned his divine face in the direction of the Kabha, entered into ecstasy and spoke with his inner God.
When he was released from prison in daylight, the crowds saw him in ecstatic jubilation dancing happily under the weight of his chains. The executioners led him mercilessly to the public square where, after flogging him with five hundred lashes, they cut off his hands and feet.
The old traditions of the Arab World say that AL HALLAJ was crucified after the scourging and mutilation and that many people heard him speak in ecstasy with the Father who is in secret from his own Golgotha.
O my God, I will enter into the abode of my desires and there I will behold Thy wonders, O my God, if Thou dost manifest Thy love even to him who wrongs Thee, how then wilt Thou not give it to him who is wronged in Thee?" (...)
In the evening, when it was time for prayer, came the order from the cruel bloodthirsty caliph to slit the throat of the holy victim. But the executioners said: "It is too late, let us leave it until tomorrow".
Very early in the morning the Caliph's order was carried out and AL HALLAJ, still alive, was taken down from the cross and led away to have his throat cut. A certain witness heard him say in a very loud voice: "What the ecstatic wants, is the One, only with himself". Then, filled with ecstasy, he recited the following sacred verse: "Those who do not believe in the last hour are dragged to it in haste; but those who believe await it with reverential fear, for they know that it is the TRUTH.
Thus with these solemn words ended the life of the Cosmic Omni and Most Holy AL HALLAJ. His venerable blessed head fell bleeding under the blade of the sword, as a bloody holocaust in the ARA of the SUPREME SACRIFICE for humanity. The venomous hatred of the executioners was so great that the corpse was not even allowed to be shrouded or given a Christian burial.
The old traditions of Islam say that the sacred ashes of the Old Sufi AL HALLAJ were scattered by the wind from the top of the Manarah. Ancient Arab legends say that instead of a white sheet, the corpse of this saint was rolled up in a filthy mat moistened with oil. When the holy body burned consumed by the fire of the holocaust, the whole of nature shuddered in infinite terror.
The GREAT IMMOLATED AL HALLAJ transformed the GROSS STONE by means of chisel and hammer, giving it a perfect CUBIC form. The Great Immolated AL HALLAJ before he died had already died absolutely in himself and within himself.
The resplendent Diamond Soul of Imam AL HALLAJ walking the celestial path is heading towards the Absolute. The great Sufi Initiate, AL HALLAJ, was born, died and sacrificed himself totally for humanity.
Samael Aun Weor
It is well worth concluding (...) with that ineffable prayer that with infinite love the CHRIST MAHOMETAN IMAN AL HALLAJ left us and which is entitled:
OH ALL OF MY ALL...
"Here I am, here I am, oh my secret, oh my confidence!
Here I am, here I am, oh my end, oh my meaning!
I call you... no, it is you who calls Me!
How would I have spoken to You, if You had not spoken to me?
O essence of the essence of my existence, O term of my design,
Thou who makest me speak, O Thou my utterances, Thou my blinks!
O All of my All, O my hearing, O my sight!
Oh my totality, my composition and my parts!
O All of my All, All of every thing, enigma I mistake, I obscure the all of Thy all in wanting to express Thee!
O Thou, from whom my spirit was in suspense, already dying of ecstasy,
Ah, still your pledge is my misfortune!
O supreme object that I request and hope for, O my guest,
O nourishment of my spirit, O my life in this world and in the next!
Be my heart Thy ransom! O my ear, O my sight!
Why so long, so far away, so far away?
Ah, although to my eyes you hide in the invisible, my heart already contemplates you, from my distance, yes, from my exile"!
AL HALLAJ.
